The following is a basic summary of the most used policies.  Please contact me if you would like a copy of a complete policy handbook.

Dinkazoo is a family home daycare that serves children ages 12wks and up.  The program is open year-round, Monday-Friday with the exception of holidays, vacations and personal closings.  This program is committed to respect those whom it serves regardless of race, religion, sex, nationality, marital status or political beliefs.  Each child is unique, thus the activities at Dinkazoo will be ever changing to meet your child's chaning interests & needs.  Through engaged supervision, I will provide your child with self-guided and structured play experiences that will stimulate development & encourage kindergarten readiness.  We will also get out to discover & explore all of the wonderful opportunities our area has to offer children to enhance their experiences at Dinkazoo.

ARRIVAL - Please give me a call if you will be arriving late.

BEHAVIOR MANAGMENT - I use positive behavior management techniques such as redirection, encouragement, timeouts to take a break & by providing an environment that prevents problems rather than having to react to issues.

COMMUNICATION -  I encourage open communication between myself and parents.  I provide a written daily note detailing the child's activities during the day.  We have a private snapfish photo group room to share the many photos I take.  And I also have a private blog to share more photos & information about our day so parents can feel like they were a part of their child's day.

DEPOSIT - A 2-wk deposit is required at enrollment.

ENROLLMENT - There are required forms due before the first day your child attends.  I require that I meet with parents and the child before any contract is signed.  I also provide "practice" days that parents attend with their child then the child alone encouraging a gentle transition to the first offical day at Dinakzoo.

FEES - I am flexible when fees are due based on your schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.).  Payment is due the first day of the week you attend.  I accept state funded families

FIELD TRIPS - I have regular vehicle safety checks, insurance and the required Child Safety Alarm.  All fees associated with field trips are included (there is no extra charge).

HOLIDAYS - We celebrate all major holidays especially your child's birthday, please share your families traditions & celebrations.

MEALS - I am enrolled in the state food program and provide healthy meals including whole wheat grains, only fresh or frozen fruit, whole milk and limited processed food.  I also use "The Sneaky Chef" techniques to provide more proteins and vegtables in our meals.  I encourage families to share their favorite recipes from home.

PETS - Our family does have a dog, however he stays in a separate area and does not interact with the children.  He has all current vaccinations.

PICK-UP - Please give me a call if you will be arriving late.

REST TIME - We have daily rest time.  Children are not required to sleep, but do quiet activities such as watch a movie, read or color.

SICK CHILDREN - You will not be able to bring your child when he/she is sick.

TERMINATION - 2-wks written notice is required for termination.  Payment is due during that time.

TRIAL PERIOD - The first 2 weeks is a trial period for both myself & your family.

VACATIONS & CLOSINGS - Parents are expected to pay on your regular day of attendance whenever I am open, whether your child is present or not.  If I am closed for any reason, you do not pay.  I do receive some paid holidays.

WHAT TO BRING - You will need to provide diapers, breast milk/formula, extra set of clothing.
